THE TEN
COMMANDMENTS
SPIRITUAL
FOOD IN THE LAW OF GOD
The Ten
Commandments of the Law of God provide individual man a source of
spiritual food not expected until now, but if you follow this journey
into the Ten Commandments, which are not only a moral base to be
fulfilled, nor they provide salvation, "for salvation is by faith in the
blood of Jesus Christ shed for the forgiveness of sin and the faith in
resurrection for eternal life, not through the works of Law, Galatians
2:16", you will find how God feeds the spirit and the mind of man through
His Living Word, Jesus Christ, He who is the Word of God, the mind of
God.
These
Ten Commandments are a fundamental pillar of the Word and in them,
civilization and all it’s cultures may find a universal message composed
by many and great teachings, also being the ideal guide of behaviour for
humanity, although in its majority does not consider the Word of God.
The
world, society of man and his final project, globalization, do not count
on God. The result of this human project not counting on God, or at
least when they mention Him is to kill in the name of religion to
dominate the masses, is clearly exposed; hunger, wars, the search of
power and profit, showing no mercy for neighbour’s life. This is the
contrary of the teaching of the Ten Commandments, to love God and our
neighbour like ourselves; society lacks it completely.
They who
try to win the battle against the evil of man, are eliminated by
that power that rules the world, as said in the Bible:
...For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places... Ephesians 6:12.
This
study does not seek a solution for the World, because the solution is in
the future kingdom of God, which will come and will win against all
opposition; but to provide the individual who seeks God or who knows
Him, with the spiritual tools that will let him build himself as
temple of the living God, through the Holy Spirit.
Man
looks at the Ten Commandments in different ways, like the rest of The
Scriptures:
The
sceptic always asks why as an automatic behaviour, but pays no attention
to the answer given to his question, and makes no changes in his life.
The ones
with blind faith in the literal Word of God, “and this is a gift of
God”, does not let them grow spiritually as they do not think about asking
God why of things, even though God wants to teach us.
The
behaviour of those who criticize the ones who “Search the Scriptures”
as Jesus commanded, but they make no effort to grow spiritually for
themselves and for the relation with the neighbour, but only judge.
The way
I propose to approach the Word of God, is to come to God with the faith
in his Word and to ask Him, with clean heart, and in this case to ask
why the Ten Commandments are these ones, with the aim of applying them
spiritually and literally towards God and towards our neighbour,
because this is exactly what God seeks in our relation with Him regarding
the wisdom: ...Thou gavest also thy good spirit
to instruct them... Nehemiah 9:20.
It must be understood that
it will not be possible to apply them to the global community till the
Kingdom comes, but in the Kingdom it will not be necessary as every one
there, will have a heart for God.
God’s
Law has 613 commandments and precepts which are based in the Ten
Commandments, which at the same time are based in two great ones that
our Master taught us: ...Master, which is the
great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great
commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments
hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:36.
We also
find in the Word what is called the Law of Christ, which matches the
answer found before: ...Bear ye one another’s
burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2.
Before
starting I would like you to meditate in this brief Bible text:
...Here is the patience of the saints: here are
they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 14.12.
Note two
relevant things are said: the first one is that they keep them, this is
in their hearts, and the other one refers to the faith of Jesus,
not the faith in Jesus whish is necessary for salvation,
here the Spirit refers to the fact that we must live with the same faith
that Jesus had on earth, with the certainty that God is with us,
Emmanuel.

THE TRUE TEN
COMMANDMENTS IN THE BIBLE
…And
God spake all these words, saying:
1º.-
I am the LORD thy God,
which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of
bondage. Thou shalt have
none other gods before me.
To love
God over every other thing, is the minimum that we should feel in our
hearts if we understand that we come from Him, that He gives us life,
and that He supports us.
Man
easily looses his friend ship relation with God when he leaves aside his
love for Him, his friend ship or because he seeks other sources of
knowledge instead of waiting for the answers from God in his life by
praying in each circumstance. Man wants the answers now and he doesn’t
care if they are true of if it’s the right moment to know them. Man is
not patient nor spiritual before God. Normally seeks a god that adapts
to his desires, we could say that man wants a god made to his image and
likeness.
When God
commands us not to have another god, this includes not only beings to
which godliness could be attributed, it also includes people and things,
relations of man in his life, even animals (some have their pets before
anything else), also friends, personal projects, or works.
Therefore a god may be a hobby, money, pleasures of flesh, technology, a
son or daughter, husband or wife, finally anyone or anything that man
places in his life before God.
As Jesus
Christ says in His Word: ... If any man come to
me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and
brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my
disciple. 27And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me,
cannot be my disciple...Luke
14:25.
And
also: ...He that loveth his life shall lose it;
and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life
eternal… John 12:25.
2º.-
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or
any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the
earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: 9Thou
shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy
God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep
my commandments.
The
second commandment I will present in two parts, images and the
inheritance from the fathers, we will see each one separately:
imAgeS
A good
example that we shall not worship any but God, is John’s situation
before the angle in Revelation:
...And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and
seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which
shewed me these things. 9Then saith he unto me, See thou
do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the
prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship
God. Revelation 22:8.
This
matter of the images has been a conflict in Christianity since 300 A.C.
because civilizations have done this for centuries, and those who are
still in the flesh prefer to follow tradition instead of spiritual
understanding.
It is
known that not to make a covered image includes not to represent God nor
any being to be worshiped by it, but there is something deeper in the
act of making an image and this is normally not understood, this is to
make an image in our mind, of how will God be, or every thing in the
spiritual dimension, therefore we may see that this includes angels,
principalities and powers, includes heaven itself, beings that work on
earth and in the waters under earth, which means the origin of nations,
those who dominate doctrine of humanity, human wisdom and the power that
makes humanity go against God as it is confirmed in:
Philippians
2:10 ...That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth...
Those
Christians that worship images mostly use the following versicles with a
wrong interpretation:
The
bronze serpent in Numbers 21 where God commands Moses to make a fiery
serpent and set it upon a pole, has a moral teaching backround. The
people of God like the Church today some times loose their faith, have
doubts towards the Word of God and begin in their minds other possible
ways, other morals, etc.
God
sends fiery serpents which symbolise all cultures, including their
morals and their idolatry to them and to hand made gods, therefore God
tells us in this message that if we are beaten, which means to be
tempted by the poison of believing in these morals, we find that looking
to the serpent means to look at the Law, not to worship it, but to
understand that it is higher than the others. The prosecutor, which is
the meaning of Satan, takes advantage of this situation and uses the Law
of God to accuse man: “you failed in this or that commandment”. Today
the serpent, or Law, is the same one that we find in Eden offered to our mind by
the serpent. It is not God’s will that his people serve images and
statues. Yes, the law of God is the power of the devil, he condemns us
with it. Read it in the Bible in 2Corinthians 3:7 & 9.
Under
these circumstances, you need your only valid spiritual lawyer, Jesus
Christ, to set you free from condemnation by his blood, the only
act that cleans us from sin. In the cross, He paid the
condemnation on your behalf and on mine.
On the
other hand we have the case of the cherubim, whom is said to be
placed at the door of Paradise to stop man from going in, meaning that man
will find angels before coming to God if he doesn’t come through Christ.
The door is Jesus Christ, the faith in Him is the access to God. The cherubim in the Arc of the Covenant have their faces covered by
their wings, meaning that what they are protecting is sacred and cannot
be looked at, but also we see different angels in curtains, different
decorations in the temple and at the entrance, all this means that God
lives surrounded by spiritual beings, that a heaven above exists, but
these beings are not worshiped by His people.
See the
interpretation in the next text: The sea represents humanity and the
waters the different nations that coming to humanity make the sea.
Humanity made by God as it stands in the Scripture: ... and worship
him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and
the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7, Who obviously made
heaven, his place, the spiritual dimension and the earth with His
hands, a symbol of the soul of man, that by receiving the Holy Spirit,
becomes the promised land on Earth.
Not to
bend before them, means that man must only have spiritual communication
with God, that only Jesus Christ, Yah-Weh, Yah-Shuah is who feeds our
spirit, so that we don’t defile. This is absolutely vital because:
...For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus... 1Timothy 2:5. But the devil seeks to be worshipped
and dresses as angel of Light, this is why we find so many different
gods and saints, etc. his aim is to make man’s heart fall in any worship
except to God. The devil places himself as a hidden mediator and has
power to give people what they ask for so they don’t escape from his
power; if you are surprised by this, please read it in the Bible:
...And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of
light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his
ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end shall be according to their works. 2Corinthians
11:14.
As a
comparison with now a days we can read the following Bible text:
...For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had
destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as
did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven,
and served them. 4And he built altars in the house of
the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts
of the house of the LORD. 6And he made his son pass through
the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with
familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the
sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 2 Kings 21:3,
Doesn’t this text sound familiar
to you in today’s society and in some churches and religions of the XXI?
The
consequences of worshiping idols you may find in the book of
Romans
1:25.
Human
imagination has no limits, but we must leave the images that our mind
may create for the times of eternity in the spiritual field; however
this must be something personal between God and man.
…And
the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before
them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 14But
have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after
Baalim, which their fathers taught them: 15Therefore thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them,
even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to
drink. Jeremiah 9.
Apart
form this, there is one more subject to clarify, the visions given by
God and also the dreams, where He talks to us or gives us signs, not
included in this commandment.
Following the 2nd commandment we find God telling us that He
is jealous, which is easy to understand when man worships other spirits,
He is jealous because He loves us and gave his life in the Cross also to
beat these deceptive spirits that kill the relation between God and us,
the wife.
If man
rejects the Spirit of God and surrenders to a relation with other
spirits like saints, virgins, angels, and gods from different cultures,
that are being preached by the religious men of the different doctrines,
man is following those spiritual fathers and therefore receives the
spiritual inheritance of their evilness in himself.
THE INHERITANCE
FROM THE FATHERS
The
spiritual inheritance that man receives comes from the fathers referred
in this commandment, from which man receives the blessing of God, or the
evilness, until the third and the fourth generation which we find in the
text of the second commandment:
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the
third and fourth generation of them that hate me 10And
shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my
commandments. These are the spiritual fathers of people. If these
spiritual fathers teach a doctrine against the True one, the disciples
of these carry the yeast of an unholy bread and therefore defile their
lives. To understand that in the commandment God is talking about the
spiritual fathers we simply can read that it doesn’t say parents, we
read fathers, not father and mother. To make it more clear:
...The fathers shall not be put to death for the
children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers:
every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Deuteronomy 24:16.
And in
Malachi we are showed the target of the work of God with His people,
regarding the relation between the fathers of the faith and their
descendents:
...Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the
great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6And he shall turn the
heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to
their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Malachi 4:5.
Precious
text where we have the most important prophecy in the relation between
the ones that teach the sound doctrine and those who receive it:
the spiritual fathers and sons. Abraham (The Father), Isaac (The
promised Son) and Israel (The Holy Spirit), the people who are born
again.
3º.-
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD
will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
The
meaning of taking the Lord’s name in vain is deeper than it has been
taught until now, including more than the mere commandment of not
mentioning His name in vain conversations and not to swear.
To take
God’s name in vain includes not accepting his name, and in the richness
of the name of God Yah-weh, we find that in it's main variation
includes salvation, this is Yah-Shua, which
means: the salvation of Yah. This concludes in those who dont accept
Jesus Christ as their saviour, neither pray in the name of Jesus
Christ, nor bless in His name, and in His name do not do all holiness,
these take the name of God in vain, because the son of God and God are one.
The name of Jesus Christ and the Father’s name is the same name, as we read
in the Bible ...And the LORD said unto
Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath
chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee... Zechariah 3:2.
...Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12.
Remember
there is only one Lord, not two. When you evoke Yahshua, you call
Yahweh, if we use the short name we call YAH. Jesus Christ.
...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38.
...
and given him a name which is above every name: 10That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father. Philippians 2:9.
...For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to
the Son to have life in himself. John
5:26.
See that
YHWH or YAHWEH is the same as YHSWH or YAHSHUAH.
...Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and
hast thou seen Abraham? 58Jesus said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59Then
took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out
of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John
8:57. In this text
Jesus Christ says: I am the same as the Father does.
Therefore: ...for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh
his name in vain... takes us to the following understanding; that
although sin is the guiltiness of man, God does not want to look at man
through it, but covered by the Blood of Christ, the life of Christ; that man must accept the
sacrifice of Christ, because salvation is impossible for us, the same as
to beat death and sin, but it is possible for God, therefore when man
receives Jesus Christ, stops taking the name of God in vain, because
that name includes God’s salvation, and as explained: Yah-Shuah, where
Yah is God and Shuah is Salvation, is the name we know as Jesus Christ.
4º.-
Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the
LORD thy God hath commanded thee. 13Six days thou shalt
labour, and do all thy work: 14But the seventh day is the
Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor
thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor
thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is
within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as
well as thou. 15And remember that thou wast a servant in the
land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through
a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God
commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day.
The
first thing that calls the attention in the fourth commandment is the
exclusion of the wife in the list of the ones who are free of doing
labour in Sabbath. For a long time I prayed to understand why the wife
was not mentioned.
If we
take Eve when we refer to the wife, spiritually the hidden meaning in the
word opens up as a parable, and in the wife we can see the soul-mind of an
individual.
Precisely she is indeed invited to do labour on Sabbath, and let me
explain why: when someone who is born again and knows the Lord, then it
is built as spiritual house and holy priest. Now this priesthood can
only be made spiritually when one is in Sabbath, which means once you
have entered in the resting
of the Lord, when He rests from the labour of building your
soul as a temple of God to receive Him, then you, the wife, your soul
takes the cross every day of your new life, and this new life is the
Sabbath.
Remember
that the old man of someone was a slave of the system of sin (society), before
he came to
know the Lord, and …the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through
a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm…
Therefore take the Holy Supper as the Holy Passover celebrating Christ
and His resurrection until He comes.
Another
hidden message that we find in this commandment as well as in the tenth
in when it says: ...nor thine ox, nor thine
ass.
These
two animals, in the same way they accompanied Christ in the manger,
they accompany us from our birth; in the Sabbath, your ox, which is an
animal that pulls the plough, means our mission in the world and
in Christ, our labour, and the ass means our spiritual burden and
responsibility in our life, you will no longer carry burden, but
voluntarily you will carry your cross, both burdens. This will be so, if
we do what the Lord says: ...Take my yoke upon
you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is *easy, and my burden is
light. Matthew 11:29.
*
Easy: in the Greak
text, the word is xpnotós: means useful, that serves, good and helpful.
In such a way that when we take our cross or yoke with Christ, it’s being
a blessing to those from whom we carry burden.
The last
part of the forth commandment: 15And remember that thou
wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God
brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out
arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day.
Connects with the first words of God, when He says: …
I am the LORD thy God, which have
brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of
bondage…
This is
one of the most beautiful texts, where the Lord shows the love he has
for the human being. But it needs to be read with spiritual eyes, with
eyes of God, otherwise we can only see the story of the Jewish in Egypt,
which h is important and testimony of God, but the universal meaning is
that God set us free from sin, from the hands of the devil, by coming in
flesh in the Christ and going to the cross to die and resurrect, showing
us and giving us the victory over death for eternal live. This is made
by His mercy, by His love, as we are sinners and don’t seek the Lord’s
ways, but our own way, we do not look for His salvation, we try our own
by justifying ourselves by our consciences, morals and religions.
So the
deep meaning of celebrating the Sabbath is to celebrate the Messiah’s
sacrifice, the Lamb of God, and His blood in the doors and posts of our
soul. This is our mark in our minds by faith. We can celebrate this
Passover by having Holy Supper. Yes the supper is the Passover. Jesus
did it in Passover and now we know the meaning, so do give the glory to
the Messiah and be set free from sin, out of the house of bondage. Take
the bread and the wine at home with your brothers in intimacy and pray
and worship God.
5º.-
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD
thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that
it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
The
honour that man gives his father and his mother will bring him blessing
from God during his life. They were the chosen ones by God to give life
to this man on Earth.
...My
son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy
mother: 21Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie
them about thy neck. 22When thou goest, it shall lead thee;
when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall
talk with thee. 23For the commandment is a lamp; and the law
is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life... Proverbs
6:20.
...A
wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his
mother. Proverbs 10:1.
Also we
could talk about our spiritual Father, God, but we would need a complete
study. ...Father which art in heaven...
...And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to
death. Exodus 21:15.
...And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to
death. Exodus 21:17.
6º.-
Thou shalt not assassinate. (kill)
The
commandment of not to kill, has a deep significance, it means not to
assassinate innocent people for whatever reason, but to give human life
the same value as our own life, or the life of our beloved ones, because
for God every life hurts like His children.
Self
defence is not considered as assassination and therefore is not
punished in the law of God, nor in international law, as it couldn’t be
on any other way, however man could modify it, like he does with every
law as soon it is of his interest. The law of God cannot be moved
regarding moral, that is why Jesus Christ teaches that it will never
pass away, and it is the ministry of condemnation and of death, it’s
useful to condemn man, as it’s said in the Bible:
...
But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones,
was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold
the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to
be done away: 8How shall not the ministration of the spirit
be rather glorious? 9For if the ministration of
condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of
righteousness exceed in glory. 2 Corinthians 3:7.
But the
work of Jesus Christ brings this result:
...There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For
the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the
law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that
it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness
of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That
the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are
after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that
are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to
be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life
and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against
God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:1.
A
concept still alive in the mind of the Jews, is that they are free to
fight against other nations to defend them selves and to conquer the
land.
Jesus
Christ gives us breath about life and resurrection and teaches us:
...And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the
soul: but rather fear him which is able to
destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28.
Spiritually we could say that to
kill someone is to give him the yeast and the support of the human mind
as the absolute answer, instead of teaching him the knowledge of God,
specially with the children; the parents must feed them with the Word of
God, but they don’t they feed them with their own and with society, so
they are killed.
7º.- Neither shalt thou
commit adultery.
Spiritually when we say someone is in adultery before God, it is
equivalent to idolatry, because the Husband of our soul is God,
therefore if we have strange gods, or other mediators rather than Jesus
Christ, we are in adultery.
Ye
have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit
adultery: 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a
woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already
in his heart. Matthew 5:27.
Apart
form this text of impact, also and not less important we should take as
spiritual …you shall not adulter the Word of God… as many religions
and sects do to dominate men, by changing the meaning of the Texts to
their likeness to mistake the interpretation for their benefit.
8º.-
Neither shalt thou steal, (steal people).
The main
idea of this commandment is not to prohibit to steal things from our
neighbour, but to steal people, because there is great suffering in a
kidnapped person and his family, or to make them slaves stealing his
freedom, not to sell him because a person is priceless, suffering has no
price. But not to steal goes even further.
Hebrew thinking in which God deposed the ministry of transmitting The
Word, to steal implicates more, like stealing people’s time, stealing
from those of good will. This shows how these commandments are focused
in the love for others, the same way we want to be loved from God’s
perspective.
Also you
shall not steal things.
...And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his
hand, he shall surely be put to death. Exodus 21:16.
This
commandment may also be seen spiritually in those who steal
souls, the religious and sect leaders, who count the souls at their
congregations, as you may read it in the Bible in Revelation 18
regarding the judgment that will come to the religious and worldly
Babylon: ...The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of
pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all
thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of
most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13And
cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and
oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and
chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
And
following in this same chapter we can see the future for those who steal
souls for the Babylon, a symbol of the religious system that gives the
first place to their traditions and precepts before the truth in the
Word of God and the knowing of God to those who approach them:
14And the fruits
that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which
were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them
no more at all. 15The merchants of these things, which were
made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment,
weeping and wailing, 16And saying, Alas, alas, that great
city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and
decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 17For
in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and
all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea,
stood afar off, 18And cried when they saw the smoke of her
burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19And
they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying,
Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships
in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made
desolate.
20Rejoice over
her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath
avenged you on her.
21And a mighty
angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea,
saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down,
and shall be found no more at all. 22And the voice of
harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no
more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be,
shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone
shall be heard no more at all in thee; 23And the light of a
candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the
bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee:
for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries
were all nations deceived. 24And in her was found the
blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the
earth.
If you
read this last text making emphasis in the underlined parts, you will
realise that: no craftsman, they are those who make carved images
for idol worship, sound of a millstone, the millstone is used to
make the bread by stoning the seed; in
Babylon they are experts in providing a bread with yeast with worldly
doctrines and traditions, after we reed ...voice of the
bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more... this is that weddings
under religion are not the way new generations get married, if they do,
because people don’t seek for the blessing of God, neither fear God, and
because these organizations are not trustful, people doubt of the
authenticity of the ministers, etc. Civil marriage if any. As a final
issue we find that human religions have killed in the name of God, the
same as we see today, how the fundamentalists do.
9º.-
Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Before
you bear any kind of witness in your life, against any one, have in mind
the responsibility that you take for your words and that you will have
to give account of them before the Lord, read the teaching of Jesus
Christ: ...But I say unto you, That every idle
word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of
judgment. 37For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by
thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew
12:36.
...A
man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a
sword, and a sharp arrow. Proverbs 25:18.
...
worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10.
The testimony of Jesus Christ is the base of all the preaching, the
reason of the Gospel and the prophecy that was fulfilled and that is
being fulfilled from the Word of God, this is the witness that we must
give, so be aware that the devil intends to make those who don’t love
God give false witness, with the aim to
accuse them and destroy their lives in eternal condemnation.
10º.-
Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife,
neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his
manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing
that is thy neighbour’s.
Another
message is found in this commandment as well as in the forth referring
to: ...his ox, or his ass.
As we
saw in the forth commandment, these two animals, in the same way as they
accompany Christ in the manger, they accompany us from our birth;
in the Sabbath, your ox, which is an animal that pulls the plough,
means our mission in the world and in Christ, our labour, and the ass
means our spiritual burden and responsibility in our life, you will no
more carry burden, but voluntarily you will carry your cross, both
burdens. So, we shall not covet other's ox neither his ass.
Apart
from the literal meaning of the tenth Commandment, we can also consider
the spiritual meaning of not to covet: not to covet being like others, not
to covet them, because you are precious in front of God, as much
as any other person, you are given a life that you must live, but it’s
in your hands that your life will give fruits on earth, and for the
Spirit in your relation with God and with your neighbour and even with
yourself. You can pray to God and make an effort so that your life
becomes a life of blessing. Reed 2Peter 1:5 to 12.
So don’t
covet the ministry of your brother, nor the gifts the Lord has given
him, nor the revelation, etc, because you are important for God, and He
has a plan for every life, be patient and wait for yours if you don’t
know it yet.
Following is a magnificent sentence from Jesus Christ referring to this
matter:
...For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:21.
JESUS CHRIST TEACHES ABOUT THE LAW
Following, there is a selection of verses from the Word of God, that
directly from the Bible expose the teaching of Jesus about the
Commandments, because Jesus obviously defends the Law in its purpose,
as He gave it too being in the Father:
...Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am
not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto
you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot
(from the Greek Iota equivalent to Yod
in Hebrew, in reality the is no J in Hebrew, and it must be understood
as part of the Tetragramathon, the name of God)
or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:17.
...Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not
after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead
bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all
principality and power. Colossians 2:8.
I think
this is a great text from Paul in Hebrews regarding the text in Jeremiah
31:33: ... I will put my laws into their
hearts, and in their minds will I write them.
Hebrews 10:16.
...For Christ is the end of the law... Romans 10:4.
THE 10
COMMANDMENTS. COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ONES IN THE BIBLE, THE JEWISH AND
THE VATICAN
Also in
the 10 Commandments, we find several changes made by the different
Judeo-Christian roots or different ways of using them:
The
Orthodox Jewish honour the wise Ramban, Maimonides who is considered the
Law master as he compiled the Mishne Torah, or second Law, in which we
find a different viewing of which should be the priorities in the Law,
all taken from the Law given to Moses, so instead of the 10 commandments
they have 14 books in which the 613 commandments of the complete Law are divide in themes
in a different way as they were given by God. There are also some roots
that divide the 10 commandments in 13 or 14 statements.
On the
other side we find the Vatican, but in this case they have modified the
10 Commandments by not using the part of the second that prohibits
worshiping images or other gods or intermediates between God and man,
making it part of the first one and then dividing the 10th in two parts.
This was done to allow them to worship images of the many false
mediators that they use, like saints, virgins and the dead to whom they
evoke, these are false according to the Word of God:
...For there is one God, and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus... 1Timothy 2:5.
COMPARISON WITH THE JEWISH:
The 10
commandments were inside the Arch of The Covenant, but not the rest of
them, the other 603. Also the order of the 613 famous list of Maimonides
does not follow the Biblical order, but it is an easy to use system
divided in themes. So this shows how tradition can take the place of
the Bible because Maimonides (Rambam, Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon), 1135-1204
A.C. looked at the Law with the eyes of human wisdom, not with the
eyes of the Spirit of God.
So for
the Law is valid, but in the Bible they cannot be changed, for the
simple reason that God had at least two purposes to give the
commandments in the order that he gave them: first to be part of the
mathematical order of the secret code in the Bible (nowadays proved)
and second because God knows the order in which the soul of man can take
the commandments, like the rest of the Scriptures, because they are
alive, “and the Word was God” John 1:1. “and the Word became flesh and
dwelt among us…” John 1:14.

THE COMPARISON
WITH THE VATICAN:
The
commandments used by the Vatican, have been presented in a way that the
part in which they are not interested has been left out. But if you seek
in depth in their texts they have to recognize the truth, then they
use a few excuses to do as they wish.
The texts that follow have been
taken from the Roman catechism at Vatican’s website:

BIBLE TEXT FROM
EXODUS 20 & DEUTERONOMY 5 IN THE BIBLE.
First you can reed the
Bible text and the the Vatican text:
1º.-
I am the LORD thy
God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house
of bondage. Thou shalt
have none other gods before me.
CATECHISM: I am the
LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the
house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not
make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water
under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.
2º.- Thou shalt not
make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth
beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: 9Thou
shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy
God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon
the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me, 10And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love
me and keep my commandments.
CATECHISM:
You shall not take
the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3º.-
Thou shalt not take the
name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him
guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
CATECHISM: Remember
the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all
your work; but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; in it
you shall not do any work.
It is
very strange that they expose the original text which refers to the
Sabbath and then use the pagan Sun-day as the day of the Lord. Specially
when the Lord resurrected at the end of Sabbath and was crucified tree
days before in the great Passover Sabbath. Their excuse is a Bible text, that the
Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath; so the Son of Man is
lord even of the Sabbath, which is correct but does not change the day
of the Lord, it means that ones we believe in Christ, and accept him as
Saviour and repent, we fulfil Sabbath. The origin of their use of
Sun-day is their decision to adopt pagan traditions when Rome mixed with
the society of the third century.
4º.-
Keep the sabbath day to
sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. 13Six
days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: 14But the
seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou
shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy
manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of
thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy
manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. 15And
remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that
the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a
stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the
sabbath day.
CATECHISM: Honor
your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land
which the Lord your God gives you.
5º.-
Honor thy father and thy
mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be
prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD
thy God giveth thee.
CATECHISM: You shall
not kill.
6º.-
Thou shalt not assassinate. (kill)
CATECHISM: You shall
not commit adultery.
7º.-
Thou shalt not
commit adultery.
CATECHISM: You shall
not steal.
8º.- Thou shalt not
steal.
CATECHISM: You shall
not bear false witness against your neighbour.
9º.-
Thou shalt not bear
false witness against thy neighbor.
CATECHISM: You shall
not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's
wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or
anything that is your neighbor's.
10º.-
Thou shalt not covet
thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor
his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any
thing that is thy neighbor’s.
CATECHISM:
You shall not covet ... anything that is your
neighbour’s...
CONCLUSION:
God made
us to His image and likeness, which means He gave us the capacity to
become temples of the living God, receptacles of His Spirit.
IS THE SOCIAL
AND MORAL PART OF THE LAW OF GOD APPLICABLE IN TODAY'S SOCIETY?
He gave
us a guide of moral and behaviour to live on Earth, but people make
their own, changing it according to times and fashion, becoming more and
more like animals, but like these, instead of feeding their instinct to
survive and procreation, man uses the mind that God gave him, to build a
society where everything is accepted, …let me do what I want, slogan…
the problem becomes when in democracy we must respect a neighbour who is
vile, loveless, unholy, adulterous, covetous, murderers, unmerciful,
proud, disobedient to parents, and a long etc. this is not acceptable,
but to these, human rights are given.
The
Kingdom of God will be perfect. Believe in Jesus Christ who had to give
His life to pay for man’s sin, because we cannot escape from the slavery
of sin (sin is not to believe in Christ: John 16:9) because human mind
without Christ, is dominated by the animal doing dead things, and by
evolution, for doing moral things, but really we were given the mind to
understand God’s love and mercy, not to depend on a moral and ethical
code, the fruit of the science of good and evil, this takes us back to
Eden, were we started to sin, were we started creating our independence
from God to create our own model, but this model is wrong and has no
fixing.
Thank
God, Jesus Christ came and opened the door to leave this system to leave
this world and come to His world, now and here, spiritually and in
eternity when His Kingdom comes, mean while, ...for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you... Luke 17:21. Maranatha, Christ is coming.
...Here is the
patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God,
and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12.
