COMPEL THEM TO COME IN
The parable of the
marriage that Jesus Christ teaches includes a request that we
must fulfil with our neighbour, "to compel people to enter
the kingdom of God"; and we must understand why Jesus uses the
word "compel".
In earlier times, before Jesus, the Bible teaches how God himself, through
different ways compels his people to enter in His kingdom
and fights a battle for our souls, but in the parable of the
marriage, we receive from Jesus the teaching of this
difficult labour, or we could say commandment. We could easily
say that it's an attitude for the late days in which we could
be currently, according to the things that are happening, but really this "compel
them to come in" is a universal part of the Gospel of Christ, in
other words, we better try strongly to compel people around us and to those whom we preach so they receive
salvation, as their lives depend on this for eternal life.
Although God
himself can do everything, we must understand that the ministry
of ambassadors of the Kingdom of God is in the hands of all his
people all over the world. We are collaborators of Christ. Salvation has been done by Him; now this
request is made to us, so that we
make the effort, those who have come in through the door "Jesus
Christ" so that others come in too.
If we followed this
text literally, we would have to physically force people to
enter the Kingdom of God. So let's see the
labour
spiritually.
How to compel
people to enter the marriage of the Lamb, to marry Jesus Christ
for eternity?
Talking
spiritually, the conquest of a soul for God is related in the
conquest of Jericho in the book of JOSHUA, because in this
chapter we can see how faith and obedience
to God by those who commit themselves in the ministry, bring as
result the victory of the Gospel of Christ in the souls of
those who are preached.
It is not only a
question of entering the Kingdom of God, but also that we may
remain subject to Christ, while we are on Earth, and for this we
have some tools that we will read in the study VIRTUE.
To compel them to
enter to the Lambs marriage, as Jesus Christ requests, it is
necessary to make sure that those being preached have understood
the Gospel, when possible by making them repent in the moment of
the preaching and that they receive Christ in that moment,
because that way they will be in the hands of Christ from that moment
and by their own will, as those who don't
have Christ in them, live exposed to the hostile system of the
world, a world that is handled
by Satan, who seeks not only for the failure of people's life
and physical death, which will come, but spiritual death here on
earth and in eternity.
To enter the
Kingdom of God must be the aim of every person. To enter there
must be a door; and the Door is Christ, as said in the Bible,
and to receive Christ, it is
necessary to have faith in Jesus Christ as the universal
door, the Way of salvation for every soul of every nation. For this to happen,
Gospel preaching is needed, then if after this, they do not want
to enter... the Lord says: Compel them to come in, and let my
house be filled.
THE
PARABLE OF THE MARRIAGE:
Matthew 22
1And Jesus answered
and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2The
kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a
marriage for his son, 3And sent forth his servants to call them
that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which
are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my
fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the
marriage. 5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one
to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6And the remnant took
his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7But
when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his
armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but
they which were bidden were not worthy. 9Go ye therefore
into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the
marriage. 10So those servants went out into the highways,
and gathered together all as many as they found,
both bad and good: and the
wedding was furnished with guests. 11And when the king came
in to see the guests, he saw there a
man which had not on a wedding garment: 12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a
wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13Then said the king to
the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and
cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth. 14For many are called, but few are chosen.
How amazing, that
having God himself offered us eternity we reject Him, truly we
will never realise the sadness of God for those who get lost for
not loving him. In the same way the happiness of the Lord is
immense when he looks into the hearts of those who love Him.
This parable alerts how God tries in all ways that man may
become saved by granting him different alternatives. Finally, as
it couldn't be in any other way, both bad and good are welcome,
as really no one is just, but what it explains
to
us is, that what is needed to be worn is the wedding
garment, which is the blood of Christ, which cleans us of all
our sins and through whose death we have access to the Father, that those good and bad,
both must repent from living their lives apart from God.
Luke 14
15And
when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things,
he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the
kingdom of God. 16Then said he unto him, A certain
man made a great supper, and bade many: 17And sent
his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden,
Come; for all things are now ready. 18And they all
with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him,
I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it:
I pray thee have me excused. 19And another said, I
have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray
thee have me excused. 20And another said, I have
married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21So
that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the
master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out
quickly into the streets and lanes of the city,
and bring in hither the poor, and the
maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22And the
servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet
there is room. 23And the lord said unto the servant,
Go out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in, that my house may be
filled. 24For I say unto you, That none of those men
which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
God bid many, means
He bid every one, the Israeli people as well as the rest of the
people on Earth, every one found on the
highways, and not only the
perfect ones, but the poor, the maimed, the halt and the blind,
as that is what we are: poor in spirit, maimed in the labour of
God, halt as we do not support our lives in God and blind as we
don't see his way. The Lord compelled me to come in, and I bless
Him, and I say to you, my dear brother; come in!
To "compel them"
there are various resources, some we will do and others God will
do.
TEXT FROM THE BIBLE:
courage
Joshua 1
9Have
not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is
with thee whithersoever thou goest.
With this verse we
begin to empower our neighbour so he does not stop to fight in
this world, enemy of God, having confidence that the hand of God
will be over him him.
Psalm
31
24Be
of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all
ye that hope in the LORD.
Those of us who
wait in Yahweh are told to be strong, and in deed, even though,
those who are of God know that salvation is free, but must learn
to battle not to fall.
Isaiah 35
4Say
to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not:
behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a
recompense; he will come and save you.
Recompense, not of
salvation which is obtained by Jesus in the cross, but a promise
to empower and maintain in salvation all those who make the
effort.
Luke 13
24Strive
to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will
seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Those who love the
things in the world more than the things of God will not be able
to come in, and for carrying on
their backs the weight of the richness of the world and
of their own lives with their own projects, will not fit through
the straight gate. To come in we must come with nothing, we must
leave everything behind.
2
Timothy 2
1Thou
therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in
Christ Jesus. 2And the things that thou hast heard of
me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men,
who shall be able to teach others also.
GOD ALSO WORKS TO COMPEL PEOPLE TO COME IN HIS KINGDOM:
discipline
Deuteronomy 28:
reed this chapter and find out the good and bad consequences of
obeying God.
Job
34
31Surely
it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement,
I will not offend any more.
The man who
receives the discipline of God and recognises that it was
necessary, once he/she repents, he/she, must let God know by
talking to Him in prayer. Even though God sees our hearts and
knows everything, prayer is needed.
Psalm
39
11When
thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou
makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every
man is vanity. Selah.
Do not leave God’s
ways; don't force Him to correct you, because He, as a good
father disciplines his children.
Proverb 3
11My
son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be
weary of his correction.
Isaiah 10
And what will ye do
in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall
come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will
ye leave your glory?
The warning of the
Word of God is clear, man must reconcile with God. The
messengers will compel with warning of the correction of God,
because many convert from their enmity against God and receive
Him with joy, and later thank the Lord for intervening in their
lives. All will die and will resurrect to face the judgement of
God.
Hebrews 10
29Of
how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be
thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and
hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was
sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the
Spirit of grace?
There
is no salvation for eternal life for those who despise the
salvation offered by God. There is no other way of salvation
than by accepting the sacrifice of the Son of God. As the
Scriptures say ...16He that believeth and is
baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be
damned. Jesus’ words.
Liberation
Psalm 32
7Thou
art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou
shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
The same way as in
the battle of Jericho, these are the weapons that God provides
us with, the songs of warship and the prayer, and these will
compel them in. See the fall of Jericho in JOSHUA, as I
mentioned in the beginning of this study, in it you will find
the priests with the trumpets of God playing them for 7 days to
make the walls fall, the walls of the soul of a person who
receives Christ.
LABOUR
John 6
27Labour
not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which
endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give
unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
We must labour for
the wisdom of the Word of God, because there, is where we find
His mind, and how we receive the wisdom of God and His love, so
that love in us gives fruit.
caLl
Isaiah 49
…1The
LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my
mother hath he made mention of my name.
God knows us before
the foundation of the world and loves us, how wasn’t He going to
compel us to come in His kingdom.
Matthew 7
7Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you…
Matthew 20
16So
the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be
called, but few chosen.
2 Thessalonians 1
11Wherefore
also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy
of this calling…
2 Timothy 1
9Who
hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling,
not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and
grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world
began…
transgression
Psalm 25
3Yea,
let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which
transgress without cause.
Isaiah 66
24And
they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that
have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not
die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an
abhorring unto all flesh.
Rebel
Psalm 107
11Because
they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the
counsel of the most High.
Isaiah 65
2I
have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people,
which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own
thoughts.
Recompense
Deuteronomy 32
35To
me belongeth vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide
in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand,
and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
This is precisely
what God wants to set us free from.
Submission
James 4
7Submit
yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee
from you.
FEAR
Psalm 34
11Come,
ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear
of the LORD.
Psalm 111
10The
fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good
understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise
endureth for ever.
The fear of God is
for salvation.
There is no fear in
love, as the Word says.
Romans 3
18
There is
no fear of God before their eyes.
and there is victory for those who want:
John 16
33
…but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
He does the work;
we only need faith because faith transforms our lives into lives
that give fruit.
Revelation 2
7He
that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto
the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat
of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of
God.
Revelation 3
5He
that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white
raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of
life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before
his angels. 6He that hath an ear, let him hear what
the Spirit saith unto the churches.
12Him
that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my
God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the
name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is
new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and
I will write upon him my new name.
21To
him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne,
even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne.
Revelation 12
11And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the
word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the
death.
Revelation 21
7He
that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be
his God, and he shall be my son.
final bIblE text
1 John 4
18There
is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because
fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
CONCLUSION
I am writing not
only to those who preach, but also to the ones that receive,
therefore I exhort both to be virtuous in the spiritual way of
excellence: prayer of love.
Those who preach
and the rest of the brothers must assemble and
must share the names of those to whom they have preached so that
the church prays to God that He may “compel” them to come in the
kingdom of God, because as we pray we make war against those
powers that stop their hearts to receive faith.
God entrusts us to
pray at all times so He may guide us in the labour of making
people know the Way of salvation, to come in the kingdom of God
and to maintain them selves and our selves in His way until His come.
Those who accept
the Gospel must pray at the same time so that God shall make
their doubts clear, shall give them faith in the Word of God so
they may come to know Him personally, and therefore no one
deceives them. They may then be assured in the truly Way of
salvation, that Yah-Shua, Jesus Christ, revels on to them by the
Holy Spirit.
Let us be virtuous
in this labour, I guarantee that results don’t delay. God bless
you in a great way and “compel them” to come in to the glorious
kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Yahshua. Our
neighbour's life is worth it, Jesus Christ gave His life, how
wouldn’t we preach, help and pray?
