PROPHECIES OF YAHSHUA ABOUT HIMSELF
© Carlos Padilla – January 2021
The Lord Jesus Christ – Yahshua while He was on earth during His ministry, before and after His death and resurrection, told of Himself in various prophecies. Some of them are part of Eschatology and others do not. I believe it is relevant to have a compilation of those He spoke, and that appear in the 4 Gospels, before His death on the Cross, as well as those who are part of the New Testament, after His resurrection, and those that are part after His ascension to the Throne of the Glory. These two where only revealed to two apostles: Paul and John. Only Luke, in Acts of the Apostles 1, tells how Jesus appeared to the apostles during 40 days telling them about the Kingdom of God. Finally Revelation is the last book where Jesus Christ – Yahshua tells of prophecies about Himself. I propose to read this selection of prophetical Biblical Texts of Jesus Christ about Himself, in which I have underlined the more relevant prophetical part, and added some brief commentary, making emphasis in how to know Yahshua through the prophecies about Himself, in me midst of a world under a pandemic which proposes a panorama of darkness and lack of hope, so we can see how He who is the light of the world, has prepared a new world full of peace and eternal life.
PROPHETICAL BIBLICAL TEXTS OF YAHSHUA ABOUT HIMSELF IN THE GOSPELS:
“Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” John 1:51. Yahshua calls His disciples.
“Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God… …No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:3-19. Jesus to Nicodemus. Jesus is in heaven while He is talking to Nicodemus on earth, while He gives him the key to salvation.
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice (of the Son of God); and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. John 5:28-29.
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:29. Faith by grace.
This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:39-40.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world”…He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. John 6:51-56.
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32.
“For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.” John 9:39. Jesus about those who see God and do not believe.
I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep… …“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father”… My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. John 10:14-18-27-28.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”…“He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. John 11:25-26; 12:44-45. Do you believe this?
Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly sorrowful. Matthew 17:22-23; 20:18-19.
“Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God. “And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven. “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 12:8-12.
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem!… See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:38-39. Since 70 A.D. there is no Temple, but many are waiting for the third Temple, in which the prophecy of 2 Thessalonians 2:4 will be fulfilled in base of Matthew 24:15 about Daniel 9:27 – 12:11.
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. Matthew 24:4-5.
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:24.28.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:29-31.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be… … and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be… …Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming… …the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:35-44.
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. Matthew 25:31-32. The judgment to the nations.
”A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also… …“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me… …“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth… …“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you… …But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:3-6-15-16-17-19-26-27.
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. John 15:18.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth… …“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you… …“These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father… …I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.” John 16:7-13-23-25-28.
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent… …Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are… … “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word… …And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:1-11-20-26.
“Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me… …“He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed!… …“Take, eat; this is My body… …“Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:21-29. The Holy Supper.
“All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.” (Peter said he would never be stumbled because of Him. Jesus said to him), “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Matthew 26:31-34.
…“Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? But then how would Scripture be fulfilled, that it is necessary that it be done this way? Matthew 26:52-53. So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?” John 18:10-11. Jesus to Peter when he cut the right ear of Malchus, servant of the high priest.
Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26:64. Jesus to the council.
“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46. As fulfilment of: Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?
“Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” Matthew 28:10. Jesus has raised, as He had said, and will show alive to the apostles.
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:14-18; Luke 24:36-49; John 20:19-23.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ Acts 26:15-18.

CONCLUSION
Thanks to the magnificent work of the authors of the Thompson Reference Bible, which contains the words of Jesus in red, it has helped me in my work to make the selection of these Texts which I have included in this Biblical Study. If we read these Texts together we realise of this new way of knowing our Lord Yahshua, a new perspective which provides much confidence in the hope in the return of Christ, but over all of feeling His love for us, at the same time that if challenges us to have faith in Him, to live like Him, until He comes. When He tells that He comes quickly, for us it seems very long time, but in the spectre of eternity it is nothing.
One of the warnings that the Lord Jesus Christ repeats is that He will come when He is not expected, and that we must keep watch, that we are alert. About the coming of the Lord, we have read that He warns that it will be at the hour we do not know, like the lightning and that there will be false Christs and false prophets who will do signs and wonders, and that we shall not believe when they tell us that here or there is the Christ. He also tells that He will reward each one according to his work.
Such Texts that shake the heart and the spirit of every believer, and that, in the midst of a world under a pandemic, under the lack of hope, with thousands of deaths, financial crisis and darkness in the horizon, the Words of our good Lord Jesus Christ resonates like thunder in the midst of the desolation and shine like lightning in the midst of the dark storm, giving light with faith in a precious future for eternal life, of those who believe in Him. Amen, yes come lord Yahshua.
